Veteran producer D. Ramanaidu today (June 4th) launched the logo of Drishya Foundation and Chitra Yatra at Sarathi Studios. Directors B Narasingha Rao and Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Rajkumar, and other film enthusiasts and film researchers have formed the Drishya Fondation in the wake of overwhelming response to first edition of Hyderabad International Film Festival.
On the first of its programs,
Drishya Film Foundation is organizing 33 day long festival titled "Chitra Yatra" at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan in Hyderabad. From June 14 th to July 17th, 100 classic films will be screened. Three films (One Short/Documentary film, one from world classics and the other from Indian classics) will be screened daily.
The significant feature of "Chitra Yatra" is that the screenings will be held only in the evenings from 5 pm till 10 pm.
Speaking on the occasion
Ramanaidu said that it is good to have such a forum like other states boast of. "Ours is largest producing films in India. Yet we don't have proper institute and film forum. We hope it changes with this. I will give it whatever support needed be," Ramanaidu said.
"This foundation is formed to cultivate and develop film culture among filmgoers and conduct international film festivals, Asian films, Regional film festivals. Like in Mumbai's MAMI headed by Shyam Benegal, Drishya foundation will propagate and discover outstanding cinematic skills here,"
B. Narasingha Rao told the media
Tammareddy Bharadwaja informed that the foundation will soon associate with either D Suresh Babu' film institute or will work with state owned institute.
