LEADER in overseas distribution FICUS and GK Media acquired the USA theatrical rights of ‘RANGAM’. In the recent past, no other Tamil to Telugu dubbed film had this kind of positive buzz. 'Rangam' is an upcoming film directed by KV Anand starring Jiva, Ajmal, Karthika and Piya Bajpai in lead roles. This film released as 'Ko' in Tamil and is a SUPER HIT. Hero Jeeva is the son of popular Tollywood producer R B Chowdary from Supergood films.
This film is said to be a political action thriller about the adventures of a photo journalist, played by Jeeva, who finds himself in trouble when investigating a mystery case as a gang of musclemen are after him.
Yesterday glam doll Radha’s daughter, Karthika who was last seen in Naga Chaitanya's 'Josh' will be seen in Telugu again with this film. Prakash Raj, Ajmal and Piaa are other important actors. Ajmal’s character is also said to have some grey shades and the actor is excited about the challenging role.
Rangam was shot in Pondichery, Thekkadi, Madurai, Rameswaram, Thiruchendur, and a few other southern towns. Substantial part was also shot in striking locales in China and Tanzania. Richard Nathan is the cameraman.
As usual in a KV Anand film, in this too Harris Jayaraj is playing a major role in elevating the film. Apparently, KV Anand took Harris Jayaraj to all the locations of the shoot to give him a feel of the places so that he keeps the surroundings in mind when composing the music. The composing of the songs took place in Macau. The duo already had a remarkable success in ‘Veedokkade’ starring Suriya and Tamannah.
