About Prasad Productions:
LV Prasad (17 January 1908 – 22 June 1994), a multi-talented personality and recipient of the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award, was known for his inventiveness as a producer as well as a director. Prasad was drawn by the drums of the touring theatres and drama troupes. Old and worn out film prints used to be shown in ramshackle tents and Prasad used to regularly rush to watch them. He also used to do small roles in the local dramas regularly. This was the passion that drove his life – the passion for acting and the moving image. He has the distinction of being the only actor casted in all the three first talkies in Hindi (Alam Ara), Telugu (Bhaktha Prahlada) & Tamil (Kalidas) all produced in 1933.
His son, Ramesh Prasad, keeps the tradition of innovation alive. With Rushi, he will produce the 30th film under the banner started by his late father. This film with a soul, titled Rushi, has as its target audience both the youth and family groups. Previously, the banner has produced films in many Indian languages like Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and Oriya.
