Support Cyclone Hudhud Relief Efforts
Cyclone Hudhud, one of the worst storms to hit the sub-continent in a century, devastated Visakhapatam and two other districts of Andhra Pradesh. Over 10 people died as result of winds at speeds of over 200 KMPH. The streets of Visakhapatnam are littered with fallen trees, broken traffic signals and electric poles. The city has been badly bruised and battered with no electricity, the same city which was prided to be a green city. Some estimates put the damage at several billion US dollars.
Over half a million people have been relocated temporarily during the storm and these people need food, water and shelter. The government is doing its best addressing the basic needs of the people. This is the time when we stand shoulder to shoulder and support these relief efforts.
North America Telugu Society, a non-profit organization for Telugus, is in the forefront for such causes supporting the relief efforts. NATS has pledged 5 Lakh Rupees to the CM relief fund. We are soliciting funds from you at this time to be able to further assist the people who lost their houses and living in relief centers.
