Abdominal Bloating occurs when the abdomen fills with air and gas. This may cause the area to appear larger or swollen. The abdomen may feel hard or tight which will lead to discomfort and abdominal pain.
You’re seriously bloated when your symptoms are caused by a condition that requires immediate medical attention. It’s prior to be familiar with the warning signs and symptoms that might indicate something threatening. There are some of the nine diagnosis associated with serious bloating.

Weight Loss: - If you see yourself losing more than a few pounds without any change in your diet or new exercise regimen then is a serious warning sign when it comes to bloating. It is caused by tumour that press on the intestines, making you feel full after just a small amount of food or from substances secreted by tumour that suppress your appetite. Weight loss with bloating should be evaluated by a health care professional because they are red flag symptoms for serious disorders such as gastrointestinal or ovarian cancer. Some weight loss and bloating can be treated at home, after you’ve been cleared of serious health issues by your doctor. Avoid Smoking and cut back on chewing gums which can be add on to the bloating, making eating difficult and causing weight loss.
Ascites: -If you see your waistline rapidly expanding and gaining some weight then you’re likely to get affected by one of the bloating signs. Ascites is an abnormal buildup of fluid in the abdomen or pelvis. A large amount of fluid can make you look and feel like you have a fat waistline. It is caused by liver disease, but cancer is the culprit about 10 percent of the time. The combination of bloating and jaundice can be a sign of cancer that’s spread to the liver. You can relieve ascites by talking with your doctor and following the treatment plan. You may not need treatment if the ascites is not causing discomfort as the only goal of treatment for ascites is to relieve the symptoms of discomfort.
Severe Abdominal Pain: - Bloating and severe abdominal pain that occur suddenly, especially if you have nausea and vomiting may be a sign of a bowel obstruction from scar tissue. An immediate medical attention is a must to avoid complications like bowel perforation that can be fatal. The pain is intense and may occur in waves as the bowels try to push their contents through the obstructed area. It is a common problem and can be easily dealt with.
Vaginal Bleeding: -Blood in your stool or vaginal bleeding in between periods or postmenopausal vaginal bleeding can be all associated with serious bleeding. Fortunately, the most common causes of these symptoms aren’t the most serious, but bleeding should be evaluated as it can be a sign of cancer, particularly colon or uterine cancer.
