Hyderabad, December 2020: Yuga Thulasi Foundation, Chairman & TTD Board Member, Sri Kollisetty Shiva Kumar, speaking at the press meet organised on Cow protection, said, for ages Indians considered cow as sacred, the economy, culture and livelihood revolved around it. In the current scenario government has to consider the various pros and cons, besides the implications of a nationwide ban on cow slaughter, but at the same time it is also imperative to give equal importance to our heritage and the emotional attachment the nation holds for cow.
Sri Uppalapati Srinivas @ Chandraswamy, demanded enforcement of total ban on cow slaughter and a law to be enacted in this regard. It has special significance here as several cows are being slaughtered especially in Hyderabad, trampling the beliefs of Hindu community, he said.
An Action plan to achieve their objective was announced at the press meet, including sensitizing government & public on protection of cow, sacred to millions of Hindus. These include one day hunger strike, Gau - Mahapadayatra from Hyderabad to Yadadri with all Cow Protectors to submit a representation to lord Narasimha Swamy fir Cow to be declare as "National Animal" by the Union Government of India and a "Gau - Mahadharna" will be held on 21 December 2020 at dharna Chowk near Indira park.
They appealed to all the Cow lovers, Protectors and volunteers to participate in large numbers in the dharna and other forms of protest and make them a success.
