Nithin, who recently tasted a well needed success after delivering 12 flops is now all set to helm the silver screen with yet another romantic entertainer ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthaide’ costarring his lucky heroine Nithya Menen. The actor is very adamant about proving the audience that his earlier film ‘Ishq’ was not a fluke. Hence he has worked for this film with complete determination. The movie is releasing on April 19th and the audience will decide whether his ‘Ishq’ was a real hit or a fluke. This lover boy, who entered the movie industry more than a decade ago, is going to celebrate his birthday on Saturday. On this eve he had a small chit-chat with the media personnel. Here are few excerpts:
Nithin started off speaking about his upcoming release ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthaide’. He said, “GJG is a romantic cum family entertainer with ample youth elements in it. After watching the film I felt that this movie is the apt one for me after ‘Ishq’. I’m very impressed with the director’s style of film-making. Harshavardhan’s screenplay and dialogues will earn good name to the film. My sister Nikhita is making her debut as producer with this film. She had learnt lot of techniques in film production. She is the main reason for providing the rich look to the film. She had taken care of every department including costumes. The movie is releasing on April 19th.
About his character in the film Nithin said, “I’m playing a software employee named Karthik in GJG. It’s a triangular love story which the audience will know to who among the two - Nithya Menen and Isha Talwar, I will say ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthainde’.
About his costars he said, “After ‘Ishq’, Nithya and I have done this film once again. Hence this movie is being compared to ‘Ishq’. However, the movie and characters in it are quite contrast to ‘Ishq’. Our chemistry worked out well in ‘Ishq’ and it’s even better in GJG, especially scenes involving me and Nithya will provide good entertainment. Nithya’s role is very prominent to the story. The reason for doing one more film with her soon after ‘Ishq’ is, she is the apt heroine who can fit into the role perfectly.
When asked about songs in the film Nithin opined, “Audio was the biggest asset to ‘Ishq’. Similar is the case with this film also. All songs in the film from the title song ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthaide’ to ‘Yemaindo E,o Eevela…’ from Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Tholi Prema’ have come out extremely well. Anoop Rubens had put in lot of efforts to deliver much better music for GJG than ‘Ishq’. The highlight song would be the remix number of ‘Yemaindo Emo Eevela…’ from ‘Tholi Prema’. I’m dedicating this song to Pawan Kalyan. That song was chosen as we felt it is the perfectly suitable for the situation in lead scene. I think we remixed it without spoiling the original tune. I did few more new steps along with Pawan Kalyan’s steps in this song.
On doing an item song with Gutta Jwala he commented, “Gutta Jwala is a good friend of mine. So we have approached her for an item song in this film. We felt that the song will be more effective if we do it with a popular face. Initially she did not agree for it saying that she’s camera shy and that she can’t dance. However, I convinced her to do the song and gave her enough rehearsals. I’m very happy with the output of that song too.
When asked about doing a multi-starrer movie with Vishnu he replied, “Vishnu is also a good friend of mine. He approached me to do a multi-starrer film. But the reason that I couldn’t give my call-sheets to him at that point of time was being busy with my present projects ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthaine’ and ‘Courier Boy Kalyan’. So he understood my problem. But nevertheless I’ll definitely do a film with him in the near future.
Commenting on ‘Courier Boy Kalyan’ he said, “We have completed 50% of shooting of ‘Courier Boy Kalyan’. This is the first of its kind movie in India which is being made with this point. I’m sure it will turn out to be a special film. Jai is playing my role in the Tamil version.
When enquired about his marriage he answered, “Right now my focus is on films only. I want to entertain the audience with atleast two films a year. I’ve not decided on marriage yet. My grandfather had recently expired. That’s the reason why I’m not celebrating my birthday too.
He concluded the interview saying, “I’ve done quite a few mistakes in the past prior to ‘Ishq’ and learnt the reasons for continuous flops. I also understood how people’s behavior change accordingly during flops and hits. Hence I’m now carefully dealing with the projects I’m doing. I’m not taking up any film that’s coming my way. Instead I’m being very selective. I understood that mass subjects do not suit my present personality. It’s only love story kind of entertainers that suit my body language and my age.
