Nikhil starrer ‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada’ is gearing for release this weekend. The actor talks about this film, how different it is and why he is not in a rush to make more films.
Demonetization is reeling in the country and EPC is releasing during this time....
Yes, demonetization does scare one a wee bit. But I think EPC will be watched for its big screen experience. Cinema is a source of entertainment and people will watch films as its is the cheapest means of entertainment.
EPC is a supernatural flick, what is so different about it?
It is not like a regular horror film, where you see characters trapped in a haunted house. The film has an interesting fantasy element. EPC is completely different from Karthikeya, which was a thriller.
Tell us more about EPC?
It is a fun film and there is good entertainment quotient in this movie. Vennela Kishore’s character is a good one in this film. You will just love his comedy. He is taking the place of Brahmanandam and Sunil. Vennela Kishore’s comedy is being enjoyed these days.
Why have you slowed down?
I am very careful about choosing the subject of the film. A superstar can do any movie, but I have to take care while selecting my film. I am often asked why I am not doing more films? I am in no hurry. I do not want to lose my goodwill. If the content and the director of the film is good, surely the film will be good.
What are your future projects?
A film in the direction of Sudhir Varma is 40pc done. It is a film set in village backdrop. Shooting for his movie has been done in Amalapuram and Rajahmundry. A sequel to Karthikeya is in the offing. Infact its better than Karthikeya. Once Chadoo Mondeti and I are done with our commitments we will move on to this film.
