Akkineni Nagarjuna is now sporting a new look. He shaved off his signature moustache, but for no particular reason. The actor is just trying something new. His latest flick ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ is getting ready for release on October 13 amidst a lot of expectations. The horror comedy starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is directed by Ohmkar under PVP Cinema banner. As part of film’s promotion Nagarjuna has a chit chat with the media on Tuesday i.e. on October 3. Read on to know what he has said about his upcoming release.
Yes, October is very special for me.
Speaking about one of the present hottest topics Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s wedding, Nagarjuna said, “October is very special for me because Chai and Samantha are getting married. I am very excited about it. They are getting married according to both Hindu and Christian traditions. “I can wear dhoti for Hindu style and Suit for Christian style,” laughs Nagarjuna. I prefer simple ceremony at Arya Samaj because they explain the meaning of every mantra and sloka. They explain why we walk seven steps. Amala and I got married at Arya Samaj only. I still remember the meanings of mantras and slokas that they explained. I am not saying that Chai and Samantha’s wedding will take place at Arya Samaj. I told them not to just sit and do what purohit says, they should understand the meaning of every mantra at their marriage ceremony. The ceremony will take place on 6th, 7th or 8th in the presence of close relatives. The date is not yet finalised. It’s the simple wedding, hardly 100 members are going to attend the wedding. I will finalise the date later.”
The delay is due to VFX works
“I am extremely confident about the film. I was supposed to watch ‘Raju Gari Gadhi-2’ on September 2, but due to delay of post-production works, I have watched it on October 2. The delay is due to special effects. I already said to the team that I do dubbing only after seeing the output. Along with hard work, time management is also important. VFX work is wonderful. Good VFX is must for horror films. VFX was done in Mumbai for this film. Right now, we are doing a film ‘Hello’ andit that there is no need of VFX,” explains the actor.
‘Raju gari Gadhi’ can be watched by the whole family together
Describing his character and the film, Nagarjuna says, “It is not just a horror of comedy film, it’s a family entertainer blended with a lot of emotions. I play mentalist in the film. You must watch it on the screen to know what the relationship between my character and soul is. It’s a fresh story. I was very much impressed by the subject narrated by the director. I have given instant nod to the film. You will see me in a new look and fresh character with fresh dialogues. The film is the remake of Malayalam film ‘Pretham’, but made changes according to our Telugu nativity. The comedy track which comes between Ashwi, Vennela Kishore and Shakalaka Shankar will leave audience in splits.
Samantha is playing a key role in the film
Showering praises on Samantha, Nagarjuna says, “Samantha’s character in the film will be very impressive. The discussion episode between Samantha and me in the last 20 min will be very gripping. After watching the film, it has given me the same feel what ‘Manam’ has given to me. Rao Ramesh will be seen as Samantha’s father.
Nagarjuna mentioned, “As an actor, I am extremely happy that have been offered wonderful roles and films like ‘Oopiri’, ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ and now ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’. If everything goes well, I am wanting to work with Nani.”
‘Hello’ shooting wraps up on October 15
About his forthcoming film ‘Hello’, Nagarjuna said, “Director Vikram Kumar said that he will complete the shooting of ‘Hello’ on October 15. We have already announced that ‘Hello’ is scheduled to release on December 22. It’s a beautiful love story. The film is coming out wonderfully. Priyadarshan’s daughter Kalyani Priyarshan is being introduced as heroin through this film. Amala and I worked with Priyadarshan for the film ‘Nirnayam’.
Amala is making a comeback on the big screen
About his film school, Nagarjuna described, “We have readied a script department at Annapurna Film School. We have allotted some fund for that department. Our film school students will ready the scripts. We will surely produce a film from our studio. The process will commence from next year. We are roping in quality faculty for the students. Amala is also doing her bit. Amala is planning to make her re-entry into films to know the new technology. Right now, she is working for a Bollywood film.”
I would like to work with Chandoo Mondeti
“Chandoo Mondeti is a big fan of me. He narrated me a story of police character. I went through the story of Savyasachi as well. I was very impressed,” said Nagarjuna about his next projects.
