Actor Surender Reddy of 'Raja The Great', 'MCA', 'F2', 'Srinivasa Kalyanam', 'Entha Manchivaadavura', 'Sarileru Neekevvaru', 'V' and 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' fame is confident of making a mark in the film industry. Here are excerpts from his latest interview:
Background:
I hail from Nizamabad. I moved to Hyderabad for higher education. Thanks to the support of Dil Raju garu and Sirish garu, I entered the automobile business. Since I am passionate about movies, I used to frequent shooting spots just to observe people. On a visit to the sets of 'Duvvada Jagannadham', Harish Shankar garu told me I should give a try as an actor since I have got the looks of a villain. Dil Raju garu told me I will be given much space in one of his upcoming movies. That's how I came to debut in 'Raja The Great'.
First experience:
I will always be indebted to Anil Ravipudi garu for encouraging me on auditioning for 'Raja The Great'. After I gave my first audition, he told Dil Raju garu that the Telugu film industry has found a good actor. After the movie released, my character got much traction. Not only my friends and relatives, but even meme-makers found it quite interesting.
Subsequent films:
I went on to do 'MCA' with Venu Sriram and Nani garu. I played a lawyer in it. 'F2', which was again directed by Anil garu, came to me. I played Varun Tej's father in it. The hilarious character clicked well. I have since done a number of movies such as 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo'. I will be seen in Ravi Teja garu's 'Krack'. I have also committed to doing a film with a new hero. Before comedy roles happened to me, I used to believe that only serious and villainous roles suit me. I want to play all kinds of characters.
Upcoming movies:
Besides 'Krack', I will be seen as a member of Prakash Raj's family friend in Rajinikanth's 'Annatthe'. Rajini is such a down-to-earth personality. I will be seen as a lawyer in Pawan Kalyan's 'Vakeel Saab'. I have bagged a role under an NTR Arts production. 'Odela Railway Station', supervised by Sampath Nandi, is also in the offing. I have an interesting role in 'Alludu Adhurs'.
