Rama Reddy, better known as '88' Rama Reddy is one of the producers who made his mark in the movie industry. With a village backdrop, Rama Reddy entered the movie industry because of his passion. Here is a small interview with interesting details about the upcoming movie Raja Vikramarka that stars Karthikeya Gummakonda and Tanya Ravichandran in the lead roles.
Q. What is your family background? How did you enter the movie industry?
A. I come from a village called Kondukuru, Bikkavolu Mandal, into the Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. SV Krishna Reddy hails from our village too. My family is into real estate business, and other similar professions.
A distributor named Vinod Reddy belongs to our village. He has distributed over 200 movies till date. He is a close friend of mine. So, I decided to produce this movie with his support, as he knows the trade well.
Q. How did Raja Vikramarka happen?
A. As I mentioned, Vinod Reddy was approached with this script. So, we liked the story and started to work with Adi Reddy and it started there.
Q. What can we expect from Raia Vikramarka?
A. Raja Vikramarka is an action entertainer. Hero Kartikeya Gummakonda is to appear in the role of an NIA officer.
I developed a good rapport with the actor during '90 ML' movie. When we approached Karthikeya, he was shooting for 'Chavu Kaburu Challaga'. So, we signed the movie and started shooting soon after that.
Q. It appears like you are a huge fan for Telugu movies?
A. I am a huge fan of Megastar Chiranjeevi. There were times I had gone to the nearby towns on cycle to watch the movies. Indra movie is one of them. That gala at the theaters is just so exciting.Raja Vikramarka is all set for it's release soon. Sri Saripalli is the director for this upcoming action movie.
