Sandalwood star Kicha Sudeep's 'K3 Kotikokkadu' is touted to be a big-scale commercial entertainer. The Kannada version grossed Rs 60 Cr at the box office when it was released last year. Its Telugu-dubbed version is going to hit the cinemas on September 16.
In this interview, producer Shreyas Srinivas talks about the film at length. Saying that the entertainer will be released on 300 screens in the Telugu States, Srinivas also talks about his future plans.
The Kannada original was released in theatres on August 21 last year. I had planned to release the movie simultaneously in Telugu but couldn't do so because of the continuous straight movie releases in Telugu. We waited for the right release date. After 'Vikrant Rona', Sudeep has become a pan-India star. Keeping this in view, we are releasing 'K3 Kotikokkadu' on Sept 16 on a grand scale.
The Kannada version became one of the biggest blockbusters in Sandalwood's history by minting Rs 60 Cr. It had huge openings.
Some of the biggest personalities of Tollywood are releasing our movie in theatres. Dil Raju garu is releasing in Nizam and Vizag. NV Prasad garu is doing so in Ceded. Geetha Arts is doing so in the Godavari districts and Krishna. UV Creations is releasing in Gutur. Hari Pictures is releasing in Nellore. I am very happy with the support from biggies.
The movie is getting released in about 300 theatres. The commercial entertainer has got action and comedy as the main ingredients, besides emotional scenes. Seventy percent of the shoot happened in foreign locations. The visuals are spectacular. The dubbing works were carried out with compromises. 'Pataki Pori' song became a chartbuster in Kannada. In Telugu, we picked Simha and Geetha Madhuri for the song.
Sudeep garu is going to be in Hyderabad to promote the movie. He told me to hold a pre-release event on Sept 13. My co-producer Sai has been a pillar of support. With this movie, he has finally entered the film industry. He will be making a grand announcement on Sept 17. He has got plans to release a pan-India movie in Telugu.
We are making an anthology titled 'Godari Kathalu'. This is an experimental movie. The shoot will commence in October. Murali is directing it. Kalyan Malik is its compoesr. Sai will produce it. I will focus on event management.
We are going to relaunch the Shreyas ET app with new content. Snack movies, mini movies, interactive films and such rare content will be released on the app.
