Actor Aadi Saikumar's investigative thriller 'CSI Sanatan' will hit the cinemas on March 10. In this interview, producer Ajay Srinivas of Chaganti Productions talks about the film, which is based on a couple of true incidents. A sequel to 'CSI Sanatan' has also been planned. A film on black magic is also being produced by Ajay Srinivas. As a fan of thrillers, the producer is inclined to listen to thrilling scripts.
"We love edge-of-the-seat thrillers as audience members. That's why I wanted to produce such a film as a producer. Although 'CSI Sanatan' might look like a multiplex movie, a scam discussed in the film will bowl over the audience in B and C centres as well," the producer says.
I have previously worked in the production department of 'Kavacham'. My father has been a distributor for the past two decades. 'CSI Sanatan' is my debut film as a producer.
'CSI' in the title stands for Crime Scene Investigation. The CEO of a company gets killed. A clues department is involved in cracking the murder mystery in an intensive manner. 'CSI' is a new sort of idea like the Homicide Investigation Team in 'HIT' and 'HIT 2'. The hero's character is detailed and unique. The running time is just two hours.
Today's young audience members are loving thrillers a lot. I too am personally a fan of the genre. The screenplay built around the male protagonist and his forensic work captivated me a great deal. Aadi is a subtle performer. You are going to see a new Aadi.
I am confident that a super hit is loading! This is no remake or adaptation. The story is entirely original.
Writer-director Siva Shankar Dev and I are fully satisfied with the output, be it the performances or the technical departments. Aneesh Solomon's background score is going to stun the audience for sure. This film has to be watched in a theatre to experience the sound!
Harish Shankar garu, Gopichand Malineni garu and others have supported our movie by releasing glimpses, posters, etc. It was our conscious idea to involve respected filmmakers in promotions.
We are releasing the movie on March 10 because the competition is going to be heavy from March end. Other films are coming out on March 17 as well.
The post-production works have been done at Annapurna Studios. The technical and visual quality wouldn't have been so great but for the high-end post-production.
Also starring Misha Narang, Nandini Rai, Tarak Ponnappa, Vasanthi, Sanjay Reddy, Madhusudhan Rao, Ali Reza, Khayyum, Siva Karthik, Vikas, Ravi Prakash, and Bhupal Raju, the film has the screenplay penned by Chaganti Santaiah and Sivashankar Dev.
