City of Heroes Press Meet at The Park

Hyderabad, 7th September, 2018: The City of Hyderabad has a shining history in Sports. A lesser known fact is that Hyderabad has produced the maximum number of Olympian footballers. Its contribution in football is unprecedented. However, Hyderabad has never been biased to any one sport. It has also produced world class players in Volley ball, Badminton, Cricket, Hockey, Tennis, Boxing, Shooting, Kabaddi. Hyderabad has made India proud consistently by creating equal opportunities for both, men and women in sports.

City of Heroes is a unique initiative being hosted by Ethic Sports Foundation in association with Sports Authority of India, Olympic Association of Telangana, Federation of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry. A rare occurrence of Sports personalities from all diverse sports come under one roof to enlighten and enable youth with the history of sports from the City of Pearls, Hyderabad and to celebrate the pride they bring to our country. This year the theme is based on Football and the players of its Golden Era (1950-1962) by paying tribute to the most effective & influential football coach in the history of Indian Football - Syed Abdul Rahim Olympian Football Coach that led India in to its Golden Era.

The initiatives goal is to highlight Hyderabad's continuous contribution to Indian sports at National and International level and felicitate them for their numerous achievements.

It's time to celebrate this beautiful city and its humongous contribution to sports along with its Heroes.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Victor Amalraj (Former Captain - Indian Football Team) & Mr. R V Rahul (Gold Medalist, Weightlifting - 2018 Gold coast Commonwealth Games), Ms. Mangala Desai (Women's Committee player) Mr. Kailash Nath Yadav (MD Ethic Sports Foundation) said - We are hosting this event to create a platform that will inspire today's youth, by showcasing the diverse nature of sports in Hyderabad along with highlighting the work and effort of the 'Architect of Indian Football' - Syed Abdul Rahim who carved a remarkable position for Indian in the Asian circuit.
