Hyderabad Runners Society and Bharti Airtei today announced their association with Digital Telangana, an initiative of Govt of Telangana for 5th Edition of Airtei Hyderabad Marathon.
The Government is keen to support the annual sporting event being organized by Hyderabad Runners Society.
The 2015 leg of this annual sporting extravaganza will be held on 30* August and participation from 14,000 runners is expected. Considered to be among the leading city marathons in India, this sporting event also marks the beginning of the Marathon Week and aims to bring the 425 year old historic city of Hyderabad alive!!

As one of the best and highly rated marathon events in India returns for the fifth year, 14,000 runners, health & fitness enthusiasts, volunteers, medical personnel and police join this sporting extravaganza for curtain raiser — 3K & 5K run on August 29th and 10K, Half Marathon (21.095 kms) & Full Marathon (42.195) on August 30th 2015.
For the second time in a row, there will be a 36 hours run by Mr. Arun Bhardwaj on treadmill. An ultramarathon runner, Bhardwaj became the first Indian to win a 567km six-day race at Hekpoort in South Africa in 2010.

An ambitious flagship program of Government of Telangana, aimed at digital empowerment goes by the taglines ''Internet for all’ & ‘Ushering in Digital Democracy’ aims at putting in place digital infrastructure and delivering more citizen services under digital realm. Airtel Hyderabad Marathon today might have become synonymous with many things which are Hyderabadi. It owes the current status to the vision, passion and hard work of the members of Hyderabad Runners, the team that had introduced this mammoth racing extravaganza to the city of Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Runners Society, or HR as it is commonly known, is a running group based out of Hyderabad. We are a diverse group that includes competitive and casual runners from all walks of lives, age, gender, abilities and skills.
HISTORY
Hyderabad Runners Society is a not-for-profit, volunteer based running club open to anyone with an interest in healthy lifestyle and the benefits of regular exercise. Started in the year 2007 by a small group of runners who shared a passion for running, we have grown to become one of the largest running groups in India with a membership size of over 3200.

WHAT WE DO
The group is active all through the year and ever since the group started/ we have organized numerous training runs, conducted workshops, organised clinics imparting knowledge on various aspects of running and encouraged people lead an active lifestyle. From 5 km run to ultra-marathons to the demanding Ironman distances - the members of the group have done it ail. Our members have participated in races across 6 continents including the world marathon majors; Boston, London, New York, Berlin, Chicago and Tokyo.
Hyderabad Runners also support charities and school based running programs to help kids adopt fitness from a young age. The group members give countless hours of volunteer support in executing all these initiatives.
The Hyderabad Runners created and organize their annual flagship event Airtel Hyderabad Marathon, which has earned the reputation of being one of India's largest and well organised marathons. It also is the season opener for marathons across the nation.
We are united by our enthusiasm for running, and we invite both novices and experienced runners to join us.
