Actress turned politician ‘The Black Beauty’ Roja, who started her second innings with ‘Shambo Shiva Shambo’ as mother, continued with the same role in ‘Golimaar’ too. Incidentally both films are produced by Bellamkonda Suresh. Although she did a brief role in ‘Shambo Shiva Shambo’, Roja played a very powerful role as a woman who hates men in ‘Golimaar’. Her role as Priyamani’s mother is very dominating and that it is being well received by the audience. Therefore, thrilled with the audience’s responses, the actress organized a press meet at her residence to thank the director Puri Jagannath and producer Bellamkonda Suresh for giving her a wonderful role.
Speaking to the media Roja said, “I’m receiving very good response from the audience for the role I essayed in ‘Golimaar’. My role in this film is exactly the same I appear to be in real life. People have already seen me as a rebel lady in politics and my character in this film proves that they liked me the way I am in real life. I was a bit hesitant to do the role as Priyamani’s mother. But I appreciate Puri Jagannath who has the ability to show the mother at par with heroine. His film ‘Amma Nana O Tamil Ammayi’ sets as best example for it. I played a very strong woman who is bold enough to lead her life even after being betrayed by a man. And most importantly I dubbed my own voice in this film which I did not do even once when I was a heroine. By dubbing my own voice I understood that the emotions in the character can be brought out very well.”
Further speaking Roja added, “Gopichand is one of the best actors in today’s generation. He gave an excellent performance in ‘Golimaar’. Producer Bellamkonda Suresh is known for making quality films. He does not compromise anywhere and strives for selecting aptly suitable artists. I started my second innings with his films and both the films showcased me in rebel roles.”
Speaking about her roles in films Roja said, “Irrespective of big or small, I do not mind acting in any hero’s film if I have a beneficial role. ‘Bhairava Dweepam’ is the best film in my entire career. During my time as heroine, I’m really lucky to work under the prestigious banner Vijaya Productions.”
On heroines of today’s generation she opined, “Of late the people are expecting change very quickly. They want to see new faces every now and then. Hence the heroines are at risk of ending up their careers fast. In this generation I like Kajal Agarwal the best of all. She is one heroine who looks good in modern as well as traditional attire.”
