Taapsee stepped into Telugu industry with the film 'Jummandi Naadam' where she stole the hearts of Telugu movie lovers with her pretty looks. She then grabbed the audience attention with her impressive performance in the role of Maggie in ‘Mr Perfect’ and now she is back on silver screen with yet another interesting role Sarala in ‘Gundello Godari’ which just got released. Here are few excerpts from her interview in which she discussed about her character in the film and her shooting experiences.
How did you okay this project?
One fine day, Lakshmi messaged me saying that she has a dream project and related me with a character in it. Then without the second thought, I immediately agreed to do this film even without listening to her narration.
Then how did you visualize your character?
I mean, she narrated two characters and asked me to choose one of them. Subsequently I opted for this role.
Did you watch your film 'Gundello Godari'?
I was in Mumbai at the time of movie release. I have received many calls from my film industry friends and fans. I got many appreciations for my bold role.
You are experimenting different characters. Aren't you?
Yes, I am glad to accept these kind of roles. I was blessed to do this role which has simplicity and traditional values. I haven’t played the role of heroine in 'GG', Lakshmi is the leading leady in this film.
How will you be in your real life?
My character in ‘Mr Perfect’ is very close to that of mine in real life.
Tell us about working with Manchu Lakshmi.
She is a nice co-artist as well as a producer. She supported me a lot during threatening situations in the film.
Did you enjoy the shoot in Godavari region?
There are several fantastic locations in Rajahmundry and Palakollu where we have shot the film. I was amazed to see the beautiful locale. I’m surprised by the production teams getting attracted to foreign places leaving such striking locations here.
Which food do you like?
My favourite food is chicken, daal and Roti. When it comes to South I like Vada and Sambar. Fish curry is awesome too. Actually, I don’t like it, but it was Lakshmi who forced to me taste and I liked it.
Did you ever feel that you haven't been a part of any big project?
No, not at all. Makers approach me only if I am suitable to the role in their script. Incidentally I got paired up with my earlier heroes once again.
You have appeared so hot in the song 'Vechanivayasundira'. Did you feel inconvenient at that time?
Costar should feel comfortable while doing these kind of scenes. In that case Aadi supported me a lot.
What is your role in the film 'Shadow'?
Film will be awesome. Venkatesh garu is a walking encyclopedia of films where we can learn many things. He is a spiritual person and respects juniors also.
Do you want to act in heroine oriented films?
I’ll definitely do if I like the script.
Do you care about gossips?
Initially, I used to think about the rumors surrounding me, but now, neither me nor my family will care about it.
What are your upcoming projects?
At present, I am doing a film with Gopichand in Telugu and 2 projects of Tamil - Vishnuvardhan’s film and Aarya's film.
What is your next plan after your filmy career?
I will settle down in a peaceful place where nobody will identify me. At present, I am not being recognized in Delhi. However I’m sure that I would definitely get recognition with my latest Hindi film.
