‘Neeku Naaku’ and ‘Bus Stop’ fame Nandita, an upcoming Telugu speaking talent talks to the media about how her early experience in cinema and what it’s like working on her upcoming film ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ and what the audiences can expect from it, releasing this June 7. Here are few excerpts from her interview.
I had good scope to exhibit my acting skills
My character in ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ comprises three different shades. My character starts off as a college girl, then transforms into a matured girl and then into a complete woman. Even though it’s a love story, it’s different from others especially the climax part which is unpredictable. I had enough scope to exhibit my acting skills. Sudhir is a hard-worker. Maruthi’s working style is awesome.
Language should not be a barrier for an actor
I don’t think there is any language barrier for acting. I’m presently doing a Malayalam movie opposite Prithviraj. Anil C Menon is the director and the title of the film is ‘London Bridge’. I’m not facing any problem while doing the Malayalam movie even though I do know the language. I’ve good grip on Telugu, Hindi and English languages. I can’t read Telugu because I grew up in North India. Haritha dubbed for me in ‘Neeku Naaku’ and ‘Prema Katha Chitram’. However, I’m making efforts to dub for my forth coming films.
Teja creates a learning environment
I’ve absolutely no knowledge on acting. In my first film, I simply followed whatever Teja said. Working with Teja in a film is like passing an acting course in an institute. He creates a learning environment. I’m very happy to for getting one such opportunity.
I’m very confident that I’ll do big films
My first priority would be the story and then my character before committing to a film. This apart I also give importance to hero and director. I’m an ambitious person. I’m very confident that I will be doing big films very soon. As big heroes will do films with big directors only, my dream is to work with all of them.
Cinema means glamour
Cinema means glamour. So one need not think and choose only glamour roles. It’s too early to tell about exposing and kissing scenes now because I can decide all that only based on script narrated by the director. I will take decision only at that moment.
Nandita concluded her interview saying, “Right now I’m doing my B.Com third year. I’m planning both acting and my career simultaneously.”
