After exhibiting his dancing skills in his debut film ‘SMS’, Sudheer Babu is now all set to show of his acting skills in ‘Prema Katha Chitram’, releasing on June 7th. The actor, well-known as Krishna’s son-in-law, is also an entrepreneur and badminton player. As part of movie promotion, Sudheer Babu spoke about his new film ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ with the media on Wednesday. Here are few excerpts:
The story of ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ is about a love pair that fails in love, attempts to commit suicide and later changes decision. So the story begins there and fresh love blossoms between them again. Those scenes would thrill the audience. The story revolves mainly around four characters. The audience will be surprised to see a love story like this. This movie is inspired by neither Bollywood nor Korean cinema.
I’m fond of films right from my childhood, especially Krishna garu’s films. I used to play badminton a lot during my college days. I took care of our family business matters. Nonetheless my passion for films never came down in whatever field I was in. That’s how I entered the movie world with ‘SMS’. Post ‘SMS’ I heard many stories, but Maruthi’s ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ impressed me a lot.
I built six packs even before my debut film ‘SMS’ because I did not want to hurry in building body urgency. Similarly I was trained in fights and dances too. I got a very good name for my dances and fights in my first film. But ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ will exhibit me as an actor only as there are certain limitations in this film. I had to bring out emotions as per the situation. It’s a rare opportunity to get a character like this for any actor. Nandita is very lucky to a performance oriented role in her very second film too.
I follow Mahesh Babu’s advice in anything related to films. In other words, I simply follow his path. After watching my first film, Mahesh advised me to focus on my voice modulation. Hence I took 8 months training from R P Patnaik. Everyone will be surprised when they observe my voice in this film. Similarly I take suggestions from Krishna garu and my wife. My wife can judge the film correctly. She gives advice in my dressing too. Both of us discuss each and every thing at home. I took lot of care for this film.
'Prema Katha Chitram’ is quite different from my previous film ‘SMS’. This movie demanded more performance from me. I don’t differentiate between class and mass films. My main focus is whether the film is a hit or flop. I don’t have any boundaries when it comes to doing films. I’m open to any films in any genre provided the story is good. My next film ‘Aadu Magadura Bujji’ is a mass film to be directed by Ramakrishna, who earlier worked as a co-director for Rajamouli. Apart from that I’m also doing another mass oriented film with a working title ‘Mayadari Malligadu’. Ravi Babu is the co-director and Hanuman is the director.
