Your commencement in to the film industry…how did it happen?
I attempted to contest in the Femina Miss India competition after pursuing modelling for 4 months.As a heroine ,my first picture is in Kannada,the remake of the telugu movie, 'Chitram'.It became a glorious hit which banged the theatres for 175 days.This is something immemorable.This brilliant success is also yielded in my second picture 'Hrucha'[kannada],the remake of tamil 'Sethu'.
How about ,in to telugu industry?
The director of 'Anandham' picture selected me as heroine which also gave me success and so reputed as 'Anandham Rekha' to the telugu audience.
Your family background?
I live in Bangalore.My mom is a housewife and dad,a businessman,to whom I'm the only daughter.
Did your parents agree with you in becoming a heroine?
They din't accept in the beginning as I'm a brilliant student.They desired to send me abroad for studies. But our fate determines our path .I'm enjoying the work in this field.
Your 3 movies were hit in consecutive!How did you receive the flop of 'Jaabili'?
My first 3 movies celebrated silver jubilee.A flop later is okay.Anyhow,highs and lows are common in any field.
In how many languages did you act in?
Acted in kannada and telugu. At present,acting in a a tamil picture,also in hindi.
Your dream role?
There are numerous. 'Dil tho paagal hai', 'DDLJ', 'Kuch kuch hota hai', 'Devdas', 'Hum dil de chuke sanam'…..all the characters the heroines enrolled in these movies are my dream roles.
What music is of interest to you?
Any kind of music! That depends on the mood.I like to hear sorrowful song once and a fast beat song someother time.
How do you spend your leisure with your friends?
Just like anybodyelse…I live here and my friends in Bangalore. I always long to meet them. We all have fun eating out and hanging round.
How far is the encouragement from your mom?
My mom is my first critic.Loopholes in my picture, my makeup…..she cares about one and all and acknowledges my faults.She advises me on improving my performance.
You are from Karnataka but you speak well in telugu ?
I learnt it . Prior to this , when I entered this field, I was totally ignorant. Even in the shooting ,I sit in a corner looking for people to talk with me in hindi.Felt lot of difficulty deciphering the dialogues in English taking Co-director's help. In this manner , I slowly picked the language.
In case,you have to enroll a negative character…?!
I'll do it definitely but it shouldn't be too negative.If it is like Kajol's character in 'Gupt'picture,I'll certainly do.
The qualities which you like in others?
A circle which is half white and half black does consist a black spot in the white space and a white spot in the black area.Thatmeans,some good quality is seen in every bad person.Also,a good human being does possess some negative traits.The surroundings influences their behaviour.Even me in such circumstances can act so.Liking a particular person for a certain quality is not the criteria here.
Being acted in different languages,did you abserve any distinction between the film industries?
Not a big difference.Even if there is,it's not possible to describe.Merits and demerits are felt in everything.Personally,I feel more comfortable in telugu industry.
What is your weakness?
Being sensitive is my weakness.Why so far,tears flow in if you speak anything offensive now.I still regret for the flop of 'Jaabili'.Not that I literally sit and cry.I feel little sad somewhere in the heart.
Your favourite food?
I taste all the types.Cannot live without rice everyday.
Costumes you like the most?
Jeans and a top are more comfortable as casual wear.I look good in any costume in the movies.
Undertook any course pertaining to acting?
I don't believe it.acting is not something that you learn from somebody. One should possess it and do on their own. This is just my opinion.
Your opinion on friendship?
So beautiful.In hard times,relatives might ditch us but not our friends.Shouldn't leave such friends forever.
Then about love?
It's the later stage of friendship.
You experienced solitude anytime?
Now and then I do feel. My parents in Bangalore and I'm here….gets reminded of homefood.
How do you counter rumours?
This is a glamorous industry.So,everything is highlighted.This problems are similar in any industry .Can live happily anywhere if we know to handle ourselves.
