Sai Karthik, who is known as the disciple of Mani Sharma and considered as ‘minimum guarantee’ music composer, has started his career with a small film ‘Call Centre’ and gradually climbing the ladder of success. ‘Pataas’ success brought cheer to him. He received commercial success with ‘Pataas’ by providing mass mixed tunes and re-recording in sync with the sequences. On this occasion Sai Karthik took some time to chat with the media on Tuesday.

Thanks a lot. I’m very happy. Well, everyone who want to see my success are also very happy.
Have you worked with Mani Sharma?
No. I’m just an unknown disciple.
Tell us a little about yourself before we start discussion on ‘Pataas’.
My father is a Tabla player and my mother is a singer. I’m a Rhythm Pad player and I worked as a drummer at some prominent music directors.
Where have you worked?
I’ve worked at Vandemataram Srinivas, G Anand, Vasu Rao and Devi Sri Prasad.
How did you entered into film industry?
Prior, I got an opportunity to compose music for ‘Call Center’. When I said to Mani Sharma about this, he immediately given green signal to me. I went ahead and from then I have continued composing music.
Music comes on which basis-Director or Story?
Director always keeps story in mind. I always trust director. Everyone said that my music for ‘Rowdy’ was like Varma’s style and for ‘Paisa’ was like Krishna Vamsi style. For every film, director’s taste goes through my mind. But, I didn’t break commerciality.
What is it like to work on NTR Arts banner?
I’ve also worked for ‘Om’ 3D film. NTR Arts banner kept faith on me and giving series of opportunities. It’s my privilege to work with such a nice humans. It’s like my home banner.
What precautions have you taken for making ‘Are O Samba…’ song in the film?
I was very excited when director Anil asked me to remake that song. Because, no one remixed Balakrishna’s song till now. Therefore, we have taken due care for that song. At first, we have kept BGM as it is. But later we have changed slightly. However, I’m very happy with the response from the audience.
What are your upcoming projects?
‘Asura’ and ‘Bham Bholenath’ are ready for release.
