Ritesh Rana, the director of 'Mathu Vadhalara', talks about the film's success, how he got the opportunity and more.
Opportunity
I met Cherry of Mythri Movie Makers with the help of a common friend. I narrated this film's story to him three years ago. Though we are all newcomers, they put the trust in us and I hope I've done justification.
Response
The film has been receiving positive response from all the centers. Our team watched the film in Hyderabad theaters. Audiences are liking the suspense, thrill and comedy in the story. As the film was released in a less number of theaters, many are not able to watch it. I hope more theaters will be added.
No changes
Though we have been travelling for three years with this script, no changes were made. Mythri Movie Makers have completely believed in our team. So we were able to make the film how we wanted. It's a 'Whodunit' genre. We wanted to make a mystery thriller in a new way. This story doesn't require songs and fights. The thrilling screenplay and twists have impressed the audience.
Responsibility
It's only because a big production house like Mythri Movie Makers produced it, the film has had a wider reach. We would have faced many issues to release it otherwise. We took it as a responsibility and worked hard as we were given opportunity by a big production house. Only because of our sincerity, we are getting good response today.
Keeravani's sons
Sri Simha is very apt for the lead role in our movie. Though he has a good background, he got along with us well and worked hard. We treated him like a newcomer. We selected him through audition. His family members were not at all involved during the making. Kaala Bhairava gave a good background score, which is very apt for the story.
TV Serial episode
I wrote the TV serial episode, inspired by a Tamil soap opera. Audiences are enjoying the hilarious episode very much.
Rajamouli's appreciation
Rajamouli garu watched the film three times. He appreciated our team. He said that we've done a great job in the first attempt.
