Kalyan Ram's 'Entha Manchivaadavuraa', directed by National award winning film director Satish Vegesna ('Shathamanam Bhavati' fame), will be releasing on 15th January as Sankranthi special. On the eve of the release, the Nandamuri actor has interacted with the media.
Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Story behind the title
The title 'Entha Manchivadavuraa' was taken from a song in 'Nammina Bantu' movie. The title is very apt for the story. The hero believes in positiveness. He gets inspired to be always positive after an incident in his life. We've discussed the point 'giving to others' in the movie. When we needed a positive title, the director suggested 'All Is Well'. But I asked him to come up with a Telugu title as all his previous movies have pure Telugu titles. He then suggested 'Entha Manchivaadavuraa' title. Every person is good from their own point of view. But we get hurt due to the actions of some people and call them bad. Every person is good. But we have to point out their mistakes. The film is based on that concept. There will be a message in the movie. But it won't be like preaching. The film is the journey of a character.
Negativity
Shathamanam Bhavati is the story of two elderly people in a house. 'Srinivasa Kalyanam' is all about the tradition of marriage. But 'Entha Manchivaadavuraa' is the story of a man, who enters the lives of different people with different mindsets and change them. How the hero cuts out the negativity in a person is what the film all about.
Trying to be different
I never crave for a particular image. I do a movie if I like the story. I've always done films like that. I've always taken care that the stories and characters are not repeated. I always wanted to offer something new to the audiences. For example, many have approached me with thriller stories after I did '118'. But I wanted to try different. After watching 'Shathamanam Bhavati', my wife said it is a feel good movie. She asked me why I don't do films like that and always do commercial films. I said I will definitely do if I get such a script. It has finally happened now.
Changes
After '118', I listened to many stories. I also considered some remakes. But one day, Krishna Prasad garu asked me to watch a Gujarati film. I watched it. I liked the core point in the movie but was not impressed with the other elements. He then said that Satish did changes and asked me to listen to the script. I liked the way he has made the changes and gave my nod to do the film.
Close to real life character
We came from a joint family. When we were kids, we used to enjoy when relatives come to our house. But when they were leaving, we used to feel bad. Presently, nine of us are living together. I like talking with all of them every morning. This movie has such episodes. I got connected to them personally. I played a role which is close to my real life character.
NTR felt happy
Tarak and I regularly discuss the films we do. When I discussed this story with him, he felt happy.
Sankranthi releases
Sankranthi is not only a festival of farmers. It is also a festival of our filmy people. Families go to movies together during this season. Four movies release every Sankranthi. Along with big budget films, medium budget films also release for Sankranthi. We will have to wait for family audiences to come to theaters if we miss this season. It will take time. So, we've decided to come for Sankranthi. We are sure that the film will do well for our budget.
Mehreen's role
Mehreen has done a superb role. Everyone will get connected to her character. Satish Vegesna has made me comfortable like Puri Jagannadh garu and Anil Ravipudi did. He relaxes me with his jokes whenever I get tensed. I enjoyed working with him.
Aditya Music
For the first time, Aditya Music, the leading music company, has produced this movie. They haven't compromised regarding the quality.
Gopi Sunder
After watching 'Ninnu Kori', I wished to work with Gopi Sunder. It has come true with this movie. The music output is excellent. The songs are very cool to listen. They will be even better when watching on the screen. 'Emo Emo Ye Gundello' song will tell what the film is all about. Every song will be a part of the narration
