Amrin Qureshi, who was raised in Hyderabad, is currently doing the Hindi remakes of 'Cinema Chupista Mava' (titled 'Bad Boy') and also 'Julayi'. In the former, she is romancing Namashi Chakraborty, the son of Mithun Chakraborty. Directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, it will release in Summer 2021. The youngster has spoken to the media during her Hyderabad visit.
Here are the excerpts from her interview:
Acting is a challenging area. What made you take a plunge into the field? Was it a difficult call?
As a student, I wanted to be a businesswoman. Subconsciously, however, acting was always there in my mind. That's how I got inclined to act and chose acting as my profession. I trained as an actor in Mumbai, post which I attended the auditions for 'Bad Boy'. I took the audition without revealing my identity (she is the daughter of the film's producer). Since the director loved my performance, he roped me in.
You are doing the remakes of films that became blockbusters in Telugu. How confident are you?
The remakes of 'Cinema Chupista Mava' and 'Julayi' have great potential. I feel proud as a Telugu girl to be acting in the remakes. The original versions have been suitably changed to suit the nativity of Bollywood. I grew up watching Telugu movies right from my childhood. I have a lot of favourite films in Telugu. I love Bollywood movies as well.
Since you have always been passionate about acting, who has inspired you the most among actresses?
Savitri garu. I also like Sridevi madam very much. I learned acting drawing inspiration from them.
Coming to 'Bad Boy', how has it been working with Namashi Chakraborty?
Namashi is the son of Mithun Chakraborty sir. He is a great co-star and works very hard. He helped me a lot during dubbing and songs. I feel very comfortable working with him. I am very happy working with him for my debut movies.
Since you watch a lot of Telugu movies, who are your favourite actors down South?
Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and Vijay Deverakonda are great. I want to work with them someday. Among actresses, I prefer Sai Pallavi.
Since Sridevi is one of your favourites, would you play her if a biopic were made on her?
I am at the starting stage of my career. I want to prove myself as an actor. If I get a chance to do Sridevi's biopic, it would be a huge responsibility for me.
Tell us about your bonding with Hyderabad.
I have special bonding with Hyderabad. Many of my friends and relatives are from this city. I am eagerly waiting to act in Telugu films. I am getting good offers from Telugu too. I seek your blessings for my both films I am currently doing.
