Gopichand Malineni-directed 'Krack' is all set to release in theatres this January 9. In his latest interview, the filmmaker talks about Ravi Teja's character in the movie, what to expect from the movie and more.

We decided to advance the release date of 'Krack' because there are other movies coming out in theatres. It's releasing in more than 1000 theatres, which is the highest in Ravi Teja's career.
Ongole witnessed gory rowdyism till 25 years ago. Those stories used to fascinate me. 'Krack' is a realistic actioner, something that people are loving these days. The likes of 'Rangasthalam' have been based in specific settings. 'Krack' is like that while being exaggerated and commercial. There are people who drink donkey's blood and run intensely for the next 15 minutes so that their body doesn't get over-heated. Their stamina is extraordinary.
Ravi Teja's character is also inspired by some real-life personalities. We have developed some true incidents into cinematic scenes. Sai Madhav Burra's dialogues are quite interesting. The kind of punchlines you see in the movie is actually everyday language in some areas.
I have decided to make only my stories into movies. That way, I am assured that the film has stamina.
It's my son who has played the hero's son in the movie. It's his first outing. Master Satthwik was finalized for the audition before the cinematographer and others knew that he is my son. Ravi Teja and Satthwik struck a rapport in no time.
The story demands many villains. As the trailer shows in the very first shot, there are three villains, all of whom are finished by the hero. The comedy in the movie is only story-driven. There is no forced comedy.
The title denotes that the hero's character is a bit crazy. Ravi Teja's movies have always been like that. 'Kick', 'Idiot' and 'Balupu', among other films, have always been based on a trait of the hero.
We could thankfully complete the pending portions of the shoot during the pandemic without a single unit member getting infected.
I have known Thaman since he was an assistant under Mani Sharma. When he works with me, he puts in an extra effort. Cinematographer GK Vishnu's work in 'Mersal' was superb. I approached him soon after its release. He then bagged 'Bigil' and when I approached him for 'Krack', he said he would be busy with a Shah Rukh Khan movie. He somehow came on board eventually. This is his first movie in Telugu. I share a great rapport with Vishnu.
Samuthirakani is a superb actor. Since I hail from Ongole, the slang of the place comes to me naturally. He imbibed the slang and demeanour of his character with ease. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, too, is an amazing artist.
