Pradeep Machiraju awaits the release of '30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela' on January 29. In this interview, he talks about the movie, his role, his journey so far and more.
The TV Pradeep and 70MM Pradeep have to be different. So, you will not see the TV Pradeep in '30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela'. Interval is the biggest turning point of the movie. There are multiple shades in the film. It's a dramatic love story.
Like many actors of the day, I too used to dream of becoming an actor as a child. I used to be very fond of film posters, dances in movies and the laurels the celebs get. I had a reality check as a grew up when I realized that I have zero film background. I then wanted to get into some creative field before getting into the film industry. I got into Radio and then TV. It took me 10 years to become the male lead of a feature film.
A film performance is about so many emotions. So, it's so much more than what I have done on TV so far. '30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela' is my first attempt and I am satisfied.
The rustic get-up and the portions involving that shade are the soul of the movie. The dialogues in this segment, the sensibilities are going to be very different. This is not a thriller but the core point is novel. The twists are many and the film gets all the more interesting post interval.
I did act in several small roles, but I did them for people who mean something to me. This film, on the other hand, is my debut as an actor. Director Munna told me he can't think of anyone else for the role. That made me warm up to the project at the outset.
When the pandemic happened last year and the film got postponed in March, I felt like I was at a dead-end. After all, it's my first movie. It's also the first movie for the director and the heroine (Amritha Aiyer) as well. More than the pain of our movie getting postponed indefinitely, the plight of several people I know pained me.
The producer SV Babu garu wanted to release the film only in theatres. We didn't go in for an OTT release because '30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela' is a dream for me, the director and others.
'Neeli Neeli Aakasam' is the soul of the movie. The bonding between the two lovers is brought out by this song. After listening to the director's brief, Anup Rubens garu came out with the tune, which wowed everyone of us. We later met with lyricist Chandrabose garu and got the song done. Sid Sriram and Sunitha garu have lent a beautiful depth to the song.
Mahesh Babu garu was the first one to listen to 'Neeli Neeli'. He listened to the entire song without a murmur and told us the locations, the music are very fresh. So, we requested him to launch the song since he liked it so much. I went to Megastar Chiranjeevi garu recently and had him listen to the song. He told me to live up to the expectations.
This is also a musical film. Music is integral to the story. The lyrics are amazing and the songs are wonderful.
