Kiran Abbavaram awaits the theatrical release of 'Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalsinavaadini' this Friday (September 16). A commercial entertainer directed by Sridhar Gade, the film has Kiran in a character with two different shades.

My character and characterization caught my attention ever since I listened to the story of 'Nenu Meeku..'. The film is not focused solely on the male lead. The female lead has a very important role. This is a commercial subject whose plot is centered on the female character. Several elements had to be commercial so as to tell the story in an entertaining manner.
The title has been chosen because I find it cute. When you say that to someone, you feel good. My character uses the phrase in 'SR Kalyanamandapam'.
There is a 30-minute episode in which I will be seen as a massy guy. The rest of the film has me in a measured, restrained manner. This is the first time that I have brought out two shades in a film. The film is more of an entertainer that you will love to watch in a theatre. The fights, the comedy, the emotions... everything will strike the right chord with the audience.
'SR Kalyanamandapam' ('SRK') was written by me (story, screenplay and dialogues). As for 'Nenu Meeku..', I wrote the dialogues. I felt the film would be enhanced if I write the lines myself. The scenes with Sonu in the second half will entertain the audience. Sanjana's portions in the first half are story-oriented.
Personally, I have always loved doing entertainers. I admire the entertainers done by Chiranjeevi garu and Ravi Teja garu. 'Nenu Meeku..' gave me the space to essay an energetic character in the second half, something 'SRK' didn't offer me.
It has been a nice collaboration with producer Divya, who is the daughter of Kodi Ramakrishna garu. She offered me this entertaining character and I couldn't say 'no'. She had been intent on debuting with a movie that the family audience would love to watch.
The episodes between me and Baba Bhaskar are going to keep the audience engaged. SV Krishna Reddy garu plays the heroine's father. He is the right one to play the soft-natured father. In every way, 'Nenu Meeku..' is a proper family entertainer in which many surprising elements are there.
Mani Sharma garu's songs are going to engage the audience. It was exciting to spend time with him. After all, all of us love his songs. The songs and BGM in 'Nenu Meeku..' are going to be lovely. Expectations from his music are high this time. The picturization came out well, thanks to the dance choreography, among other reasons.
Every film has to convey one or another emotion. I am conscious of it while selecting a script.
'Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha' with Geetha Arts, 'Meter' with Mythri Movie Makers (only songs shoot is pending), and AM Ratnam-produced 'Rules Ranjan' are my upcoming movies. One of the movies will be released in December this year.
After the pandemic, things have become unpredictable. Previously, at least 40% opening could be ensured by making a film with reasonable buzz. That's not the case anymore. 'Sammathame' opened well and I was happy with the houseful opening; the response to that film has been very positive on social media. I am happy with that film. The producers could recoup their investment. It was a hit film, technically speaking. 'Sebastian PC 524' was a total washout. I have done four films so far and three of them worked for the stakeholders involved.
