Actor Bellamkonda Ganesh is excited ahead of the theatrical release of 'Swathi Muthyam' (October 5th release), his debut movie. As Bala Murali, he will be seen in a soft role in the Lakshman K Krishna directorial. Catch him talk about the family entertainer. The film, co-starring Rao Ramesh, VK Naresh, Goparaju Ramana and others, has music by Mahati Swara Sagar. Ganesh says that his family members are yet to watch the movie and will do so on Tuesday evening.

I see myself as a middle-class person. My mother brought me up as a grounded person. My father, Bellamkonda Suresh, was not born rich. He made money through sheer hard work. Till my Standard VI, we used to live in a small rented house. My father started producing movies with passion. If he starts making movies again, I will be the first one to feel happy.

'Swathi Muthyam' has got a sensitive element in the form of sperm donation. But this is just a small portion of the film. Both I and the female lead have got respectable, decent characters in the movie. Varsha Bollamma is senior to me as an actor. She used to come well-prepared to set. We never had to struggle to get our lines right.

Sithara Entertainments has made the film as a neat, situational comedy. You can watch it with kids and elders; there is not a single embarrassing scene or dialogue in the film.

I don't believe that a film is only about action and fights. I want to do performance-oriented characters and films. I am open to doing action films, though. I am now trying for a boy-next-door image and I hope 'Swathi Muthyam' gives me that. I won't restrict myself to typecast, classy roles. I will try a variety of roles. In two months time, I will be seen in 'Nenu Student', a thriller. I will be seen as a student in it. It is in the post-production phase. My film with Pavan Sadineni had to be shelved in 2020 due to the pandemic. We couldn't secure Visas to the US. If the producer is ready to revive the project, I will complete it.

When I was working on the production side, my focus was entirely on my work. I didn't know much about acting. I did an acting course separately and learned the ropes. In the coming years, whenever I find time, I will learn about the 24 crafts by doing multiple courses.

The OTT culture has only raised the audience's expectations. If you don't bore the audience and offer them something new, any film is going to work. This Dasara, I am glad to see my poster alongside the posters of 'GodFather' and 'The Ghost'.

I don't have any dream role as such. Maybe, acting in a Rajamouli movie is my dream. I have been a fan of Venkatesh garu. I have watched 'Raja' countless times.
