Sreeleela, who debuted in Telugu with 'Pelli SandaD' (2021), awaits the theatrical release of 'Dhamaka' this Friday (December 23).
In this interview, she talks about the film, praises Ravi Teja, and also tells us about her upcoming movies.
I landed this offer even before 'Pelli SandaD' was released in theatres. I greenlit the project within 10 minutes of the narration. Entertainment is what enthused me. The narration is hilarious. I am a fan of entertaining movies.
It feels great to have got to work with Ravi Teja garu so early in my career. I am lucky to have been introduced by someone like K Raghavendra Rao (supervisor of 'Pelli SandaD') garu to the industry. Working with Ravi Teja garu made me confident.
Pranavi is my name in the movie. She journeys with both Swamy and Anand Chakravarthy, both played by Mass Maharaja. She gets attracted to both! That's a twist in her character arc.
Doing songs like 'Jinthaak' was so fun. Music director Bheems was intent on giving a proper dance number. 'What's Happening' is also my favourite song. Sekhar Master's dance choreography, the characterization.. everything is so enjoyable about 'Dhamaka'.
'Nenu Local' is my favourite film among the ones directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina. Keerthy Suresh's character in that movie was so good. 'Vikramarkudu' is among my favourite movies. When I first met Ravi Teja garu, I couldn't believe it! I find his performances whistle-worthy. He was supportive on set. He was appreciative whenever I got my expressions right. He is also highly knowledgeable. His body language is versatile. He is a methodical actor.
People Media Factory has become close to me. Their treatment was homely. They extended moral support throughout.
I come from a theatre background. I started learning dances at the age of three. I took dance very seriously. I completed 'arangetram' by the age of eight. I started giving performances at Mathams and temples.
My journey in the industry has been smooth so far. I haven't encountered any issues. I have also been a student. I am balancing MBBS and films. I am enjoying this balancing act. My mother is a doctor. After completing MBBS, she got married and did PG after 10 years. I am yet to decide on when to do specialization after my MBBS. My mother plays a role in my acting assignment choices.
I don't think there is competition in the industry, as every actress has got space of their own in the industry. I am inclined to appreciate others more than compete with them. I am excited ahead of the release of 'Dhamaka'. I want to see the movie on the big screen with RR!
Upcoming projects: I am doing a film opposite Vaisshnav Tej and another one with Naveen Polishetty (it is in talks). The Ram Pothineni-Boyapati Srinu film is also there. A film with Nithiin is also there and it is directed by Vakkantham Vamsi. I am also doing a film for Vaaraahi Chalana Chitra. I am playing my age in NBK108, directed by Anil Ravipudi.
I like doing multiple projects at a time. I can attune my mind and change into the character I am doing. I don't let the previous day's work spill into today's work.
