Music director Harshavardhan Rameshwar says the soundscape of 'Devil' has been designed to give a rousing feeling. The songs and the background music are in tune with the genre, he asserts.
In this interview, the composer of some popular titles like 'Animal' and 'Arjun Reddy' says that 'Devil' is a top-tier product both music-wise and visually. He is confident that the December 29th release, which is set in the British-India era, will impress the audience with its plot turns. The music and the cinematography amp up the impact, he adds.
'Devil' is a period spy thriller and I delved into the musical instruments used in countries like Saudi Arabia and other countries to ensure authenticity. We have fused Indian instruments like Sitar with foreign instruments for some segments. Everything has turned out to be organic.
Except for one song, all other songs are montages in 'Devil'. Doing 'Animal' and 'Devil' simultaneously was relatively less difficult because the genres are quite different. It took me time to adapt to the switching, though.

A mix of classical music and symphony has been given since the film is set in the 1940s. For the climax, we did something spontaneously, something like jamming. I got to bond creatively with Abhishek Nama garu the way I got to blend my style with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The storyline of 'Devil' was narrated to me by Abhishek Nama garu. He was involved from the beginning in the making of the film, including during music sittings. We have seen him as a producer and now, we are going to witness his knack as a filmmaker. It was he who suggested the name of a rapper for a song. Her rendition will stand out. Kalyanram garu insisted that the songs have to be unique.
I want to direct a musical in the future. A guitar-based story is something I have in mind. I have requested Sandeep Vanga for an opportunity to work in the direction department.
I must thank Nama garu for waiting for me to complete the movie. If he wanted, he could have done it with any other composer. But he trusted me completely.
