'Eagle' meets international standards: Kavya Thapar

Kavya Thapar will be seen in a prominent role in Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja's 'Eagle', which hits the cinemas on February 9. In this interview, the 'Ek Mini Katha' actress implies that her romantic track in the film is not conventional. She also confirms being part of Puri Jagannadh's 'Double iSmart'. She also awaits the release of 'Ooru Peru Bhairavakona' on February 16.

'Eagle' is one of the biggest opportunities in my career. To be in this place feels like a blessing. Director Karthik Ghattamaneni okayed me after doing a look-test in Hyderabad. The experience was special because Ravi Teja sir turned up at the venue, something I didn't know before. He is such a friendly personality who is fun-loving to the core.

'Eagle' has international sensibilities with a new genre of romance. It's a new type of love. You can fall in love with somebody without having ever seen them. In that sense, the love track in 'Eagle' won't bore you.

Rachana (my character's name) has a goal in life. She wants to make her family proud like all of us. She finds her confidence going up along her journey. You won't see me. You will see only the character. I am fully satisfied. Sahadev (Ravi Teja) instills confidence in her without being physically present in her life. I and the hero don't have a dance number together because of the nature of the story. I hope I get to dance alongside Ravi Teja sir in the future.

I am energetic, while Rachana in 'Eagle' is quiet. She doesn't know if she is doing the right thing. Yet, she takes risks in pursuit of her goal. Her outlook is positive. She pursues her aspirations despite all odds.

'Eagle' was a relatively easy film to do. I shot it in Poland and London. I was really enjoying the vacation vibes. I also took my mom. I had lots of fun on and off set.

I am up for all sorts of genres. I am now more prepared having gained experience. That said, every film, every script, every team is different. Everybody brings something new. There is always new learning.

I can understand Telugu but can't speak it. I have got to act with seniors like Ravi Teja sir and Vijay Antony sir. I have been blessed with amazing co-stars. By nature, I am friendly. That helps me in getting along with my co-stars. Appreciation is the cherry on the cake. My work ethic is, 'Give your best, forget the rest'. I thank God every day that I am getting these opportunities.

I wouldn't mind a supporting role if I believe that the role can be done justice. The audience are not going to believe me unless I am convinced of the stamina of my character.

I am not a method actor. I don't stand in front of the mirror and rehearse my lines. I live in the moment and perform on the go.
