The romantic entertainer ‘Sasirekha Parinayam’ directed by Krishna Vamsi with Tarun and Genelia in lead roles was released on January 1, 2009. Sunkara Madhu Murali produced this film under Karthikeya Creations banner. Mani Sharma’s music also played a vital part in the film. The film won the appreciation of audience and critics as well. Genelia who stole the show completely as ‘Sasirekha’ is on cloud nine savouring the success. Well, to share her joy moments she had a small chitchat with the media personnel. A few excerpts -
“Sasirekha Parinayam is yet another mile stone for me. I would have been disappointed had the character been given away to someone else. It is a wonderful experience to work with director like Krishna Vamsi, much contrary to the caution I was given of him. He turned out to be a library for me with his sharing of best of his knowledge and guiding me through”, were her candid opinion on the director Krishna Vamsi.
When asked about her language of preference she quickly took the side of Telugu. Citing her presence in Telugu Film Industry for six years she conveyed that she has learnt to be more at home with Telugu than Hindi. She also thanked the people of Andhra Pradesh for being closer to her inspite of certain hiccups in the early part of her career. At the same time she also conveyed that she is doing three films in Hindi that are “It’s My Life”, a remake of Bommarillu, directed by Anees Bazmee, Abbas Mustan’s “Life Partner” with Govinda, Fardeen Khan and Tusshar Kapoor and “Hook Ya Crook” co-starring John Abraham and Uday Chopra in David Dhavan’s direction.
On the character of Sasirekha she said that the role is more of an intuitive one rather than a balanced one. “A scene involving drinking is favourite while the auto chasing has been the dreaded one” are the answers about her experience in the movie.
On co-star Tarun’s abilities she opined that he had full control over the character and is much matured without any sense of insecurity.
On her experience on the sets of the movie about action and make-up she said, “I’m an athlete. This helped me to do certain actions myself. You will see the real me jumping in the middle of the sea and also scaling the entire building down with my bare foot. Similarly when it comes to make-up I’m daring to present myself naturally in certain scenes as per the demand in this film.
Yet another surprising fact she revealed was her tenacity in completing her studies. Claiming to have possessed BBM (Bachelor in Business Management) she narrated her strenuous situation wherein she had to fly in the morning to Mumbai to attend classes and return the same evening to pursue the acting. A very committed personality indeed!
