‘Swati Muthyam’ which was released on March 13, 1986, has now completed 30 years. ‘Swati Muthyam’ is the only films in the Telugu film industry which was sent for the Best Foreign Language Film for the prestigious Oscar Awards. The film which was made with the combination of tasteful producer Edida Nageswara Rao, Kala Thapaswi K Viswanath and Kamal Haasan under Poornodaya Movie Creations banner, has created Box-Office record in 1986. The film has won Best Telugu Film in National Film Awards, Golden Nandi in Nandi Awards, Best Director in Film Fare Awards and Best actor in Nandi Awards etc. The film was also dubbed in Russian language and became big success. The movie was later dubbed into Tamil as ‘Sippikul Muthu’ and became blockbuster hit there. The film had 500 days successful run in Andhra and Karnataka.
