SonyLIV is seeking to expand its footprint in South India in a big way. Its main focus is said to be Telugu and Tamil content. The news is that the OTT platform today announced that Telugu film producer-distributor-filmmaker Madhura Sreedhar has been appointed as the Content Head of the Telugu division.
Madhura Sreedhar, speaking on the new endeavour, said that he is going to work towards expanding the footprint of SonyLIV in the Telugu States. He added that he will be tasked with ensuring that the curated content caters to viewers across various geographies.
Ashish Golwalkar, the Content Head at SonyLIV, is counting on Madhura Sreedhar's diversified experience. Not only has he produced and distributed movies but he also comes from an Engineering/corporate background.
It's said that Sreedhar's hands-on experience in working with new-age talent and his inclination to encourage novel content will be banked upon by SonyLIV.
