"I am not a hero to receive your salute. I am a villain," thunders Gopichand in the middle of an action scene in the trailer of 'Pakka Commercial'. Writer-director Maruthi has conjured up a protagonist whose commercial mindset is notorious. It is also celebrated by some characters who can relate to him.
The hero's father is played by Satyaraj, who is a polar opposite of his son. A retired Magistrate, he warns that his son will be skinned alive should he continue to be on the path of moral and financial depravity. Expect courtroom comedy and clashes.
Maruthi's heroes have had either flaws or some syndrome. This time, his hero seems to be a compulsively commercial person. Any which way, we are assured of loads of fun and also action.
Raashi Khanna is a clownish TV serial actress who delivers a twist, probably at the interval point. But the hero being a hero, he knows how not to be hoodwinked so easily.
Jakes Bejoy's music and Karm Chawla's cinematography seem to be assets to the UV Creations-GA2 Pictures production.
Also starring Satyaraj and Rao Ramesh in key roles, 'PC' hits the cinemas on July 1.
