It was on October 12 in 2004 that Bharath-starrer 'Premisthe' was released in theatres. The Balaji Sakthivel-directed romantic drama was the Telugu-dubbed version of the Tamil movie 'Kaadhal'.

Originally produced by Shankar, the film's Telugu version was released by Suresh Kondeti, then a publisher and editor of Santosham magazine. Kondeti became a producer after Megastar Chiranjeevi wished that he becomes one. He bought the rights to 'Kaadhal' despite being advised against by skeptics. The decision proved to be his career's best one, as 'Premisthe' turned out to be a supremely profitable venture.

'Premisthe' is also special in the creer of 'Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy' maker Maruthi, who was a co-producer back in 2004. With the success he tasted, he later became a serious distributor.
