The 11th edition of the South Indian International Movie Awards, also known as the SIIMA Awards, will be held in Dubai this September (on 15th and 16th). A number of popular Telugu titles have garnered nominations in multiple categories.
Best Actor in a Leading Role nominations are six in number. Jr NTR and Ram Charan for 'RRR', Dulquer Salmaan for 'Sita Ramam', Adivi Sesh for 'Major', Nikhil Siddhartha for 'Karthikeya 2', and Siddu Jonnalagadda for 'DJ Tillu' are the ones.
'RRR' is the leading movie in terms of the number of nominations (11). 'Sita Ramam' has received nominations in 10 categories.
'DJ Tillu' has been nominated in eight categories. In a statement, Sithara Entertainments said that the awards committee has communicated to them that the categories are these: Best Film, Best Director (Vimal Krishna), Best Actor (Siddu Jonnalagadda), Best Actress (Neha Sshetty), Best Actor In a Supporting Role (Muralidhar Goud), Best Music Director (Ram Miriyala and Sricharan Pakala), Best Playback Singer (Ram Miriyala), and Best Debut Director (Vimal Krishna).
'Kartikeya 2', the fantasy hit, has been nominated in five categories. Best Film, Best Actor (Nikhil Siddhartha), Best Director (Chandoo Mondeti), Best Actor in a Comedy Role (Srinivasa Reddy), and Best Cinematographer (Karthik Ghattamaneni).
Best Director nominations have been received by SS Rajamouli for 'RRR', Hanu Raghavapudi for 'Sita Ramam', Chandoo Mondeti for 'Karthikeya 2', Sashi Kiran Tikka for 'Major', and Vimal Krishna for 'DJ Tillu'.
