Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth announced their separation in October last year. Although there were rumours that their elders were trying their best to convince them to call off their divorce, the estranged couple haven't patched up as yet.
In an interesting turn of events, their films are going to clash at the box office during Pongal 2024. Dhanush-starring 'Captain Miller', an action thriller, is slated to hit the screens for the festival. Aishwarya-directed 'Laal Salaam' is also slated to hit the screens around the same time. In all probability, they will be released on two consecutive days.
'Captain Miller' enjoys a far bigger edge, considering its genre. Also, Dhanush is more popular than Vishnu Vishal, the lead actor of 'Laal Salaam'. The only advantage that 'Laal Salaam' enjoys is that Superstar Rajinikanth is playing a pivotal cameo in it.
In Telugu, though, both films have equal chances of being bulldozed over by straight Telugu films like 'Guntur Kaaram'.
