'Kushi' was released in theatres this Friday (September 1). As per early trade reports, the film logged excellent openings in Nizam and the US. On the other hand, the gross collections were not up to the makers' expectations in Andhra Pradesh on Day 1.
In the fertility centre scene in the film, Vijay Deverakonda's character has to submit his semen sample. In the US print, this scene reportedly takes a crass turn. After the male lead returns home, his wife Aradhya (played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu) questions him as to whom he fantasized while mast*rbating in the clinic while giving the sample. He mentions the name of Hollywood actress Kate Winslet.
The scene doesn't find a place in the Indian theatrical release in any version (be it Telugu or Tamil or Hindi). Director Shiva Nirvana and team seem to have done away with it in view of the family-friendly nature of the film.
