'Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli' started streaming on Netflix on August 2nd. Prabhas, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Karan Johar, Rana Daggubati and are present. And, of course, the Hollywood legend James Cameron, too.

The national media has reviewed the much-vaunted documentary. Here is what to expect from a one-of-its-kind Netflix Original about India's most celebrated filmmaker of our times.

As per Hindustan Times, the documentary is not pensive. "There are bits about his influences, his flaws as a director, and even his arrogance about the craft, but only if you look too closely. In those fleeting moments, Rajamouli comes across as the most fragile, the most vulnerable, the most humane," opined Hindustan Times in its review.

As per Indian Express, the 74-minute documentary doesn't tell us much about how Rajamouli, a Telugu director, leapfrogged to become a pan-Indian filmmaker with 'Baahubali'. The context in which Rajamouli made films in Telugu before 'Baahubali' is not provided by the documentary for the benefit of the non-Telugu audience.

Firstpost is satisfied that 'Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli' also touches upon the director's personal life. "At home, Rajamouli is a completely different person. His wife Rama says that when Rajamouli is not shooting or playing a game, he loves to laze around and you will find him mostly sitting on the couch. But for him, sports is like meditation," the review quotes Rama Rajamouli as saying.
