'Ghantasala the Great', a biopic celebrating the life of legendary singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, is set to release on February 14th. Krishna Chaitanya portrays the title role, while Mridula takes on the character of Ghantasala's wife, Savitri. Directed by CH Rama Rao and produced by CH Srimati Phani, the film's release date poster was unveiled today by former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
Venkaiah Naidu expressed his admiration for the legendary Ghantasala, highlighting his multifaceted contributions as a freedom fighter, public singer, renowned music director, and an immortal voice in Indian music. "The society needs to know about his life," Naidu remarked.
Sharing his thoughts on the movie, Naidu praised the efforts of the production team, particularly the producer. He commended Jeevi Bhaskar and Lakshmi Prasad for their dedication to bringing Ghantasala's life to the screen. Naidu also appreciated the performances of young singer Krishna Chaitanya, who portrayed Ghantasala, and Mridulu, who played Smt. Ghantasala. He described their work as a "nice effort" in celebrating the legacy of a man revered as Shatabdi Gayakudu.
Naidu reflected on Ghantasala's life as a freedom fighter, a pioneering film singer, and the first Telugu artist to sing the Bhagavad Gita. He emphasized that Ghantasala's journey, deeply rooted in music, serves as a role model for future generations. "He is an immortal singer, and his life will continue to inspire," he added.
Krishna Chaitanya said, "I am not good at acting. Big actors are in our movie. I sincerely hope that the movie is good and blesses me. Thanks to the director Rama Rao for giving me the opportunity."
