Events over the past 48 hours have to be seen as shameless targeted harassment of the Allu family. Allu Arjun has been targeted by the ruling party of Telangana. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, no less, attributed remarks to him that Allu Arjun has no way of disproving. An MLA (Akbaruddin Owaisi) and an MLC (Teenmaar Mallanna) have caused immense pain to the actor. The latter has demanded that 10% of Pushpa 2's collections must be given away to Revathi's family. This is nothing but harassment, considering these are extra-legal demands. A student activist has declared that 1500 activists will vandalize Allu Arjun's Jubilee Hills residence if he doesn't donate Rs 25 Cr to Revathi's family. This threat should have ideally led to the actor's temporary fleeing out of the country.
Despite the unabashed, unwarranted harassment, the entire Allu family has conducted itself with composure. Their collected demeanour is admirable. Hours after Sunday's vandal incident, Allu Aravind appealed for calm, carefully measuring his words.
After Allu Arjun's kids were moved to a safer location on Sunday night, it is evident that the threat perception is palpable. Bunny's lawyers must be involved in preparing a sharp case. When the next hearing for whatever purpose takes place, the legal team might talk about the political harassment.
