'Kalki 2898 AD' is heading to theatres on May 9. The film's trailer will be released in mid-April. Vyjayanthi Movies is said to be planning an event on an international scale soon. Prabhas will speak about the movie on the occasion for the first time.
As per director Nag Ashwin, the film's story takes off during the Mahabharata Era. And it concludes in the year 2898 AD. "The story of the film covers the events that happened over 6000 years," the director said, adding that some worlds have been imagined while recreating them for the film.
The Mahabharata Era itself was a long one. The director didn't reveal which episode in the epic is the starting point of his magnum opus. Also, the conclusion of the story in the year 2898 doesn't look random. There is an intelligent choice that he has made.
The film co-stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Dulquer Salmaan, Disha Patani, and others.
