Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma announced he is stepping away from political movies. This decision wasn't influenced by recent election results. He had already planned this before his films 'Vyooham' and 'Sapatham' released in March.
RGV, a vocal supporter of the YSRCP, has been making politically charged films for seven years. Some speculate his shift might be due to mental fatigue or a loss of motivation after the YSRCP's dismal performance in the elections.
Instead of politics, Varma seems to be focusing on nurturing new talent. Through his RGV Den initiative, he has released short films by aspiring directors and is holding a public vote to select the best ones. About 11 films have been released. Each of the shorts have the same storyline. How differently they have been written and executed is what the voters have to keep in mind while picking their choices.
