Pawan Kalyan's 'Badri' and Sumanth's 'Yuvakudu' were released in a span of about a month in the year 2000. Both films were edited by Marthand K Venkatesh, who had access to their contents.
"Having watched 'Yuvakudu' and 'Badri', I felt that the former stood a better chance of becoming successful. I told Pawan Kalyan garu about the same, adding that 'Badri' might not stand a chance at the box office. But he assured me that the songs in 'Badri' were so unique and that kids will love them. As per his assessment, 'Badri' clicked with the audience. And contrary to what I had thought, 'Yuvakudu' flopped," Venkatesh said in an interview.
'Badri' was directed by Puri Jagannadh. Amisha Patel, Renu Desai, and Prakash Raj played pivotal parts in it. As for 'Yuvakudu', its heroine, Bhoomika Chawla, went on to do 'Kushi' with Pawan Kalyan.
