'Devara' Defies Critics, 'Game Changer' Faces Tough Act to Follow

The opening-day gross of 'Devara' is nothing less than a shocker. Braving negative talk about its Trailer, the film grossed about Rs 140 Cr worldwide on Day 1. Some estimates say the number was higher. The makers say it was Rs 172 Cr.

Even by conservative estimates, Jr NTR's box office stamina remains proven without a speck of doubt. How about his 'RRR' co-star, Ram Charan?

Ram Charan awaits the release of 'Game Changer' for Christmas this year. The film's opening-day collections will be a subject of intense scrutiny. It will take subdued openings if its Trailer is poor. Unlike 'Devara', which is set in a distinct world and has an element of epicness, 'Game Changer' is a contemporary film with probably a cliched hero at its centre. So, its Trailer and songs can't afford to be underwhelming. 'Raa Macha Macha', the second song from the movie, must do better than 'Chuttamalle'. And the film's Trailer must make the audience forget Shankar's disaster, 'Indian 2'. Otherwise, the going will get tougher for 'Game Changer' and it must brace up to be humiliated by 'Devara'.
