Rukshar Dhillon's 'My Choice' poem follows misbehavior claim

Rukshar Dhillon's social media post on Women's Day today was cryptic. Two days after she spoke out against improper behaviour by an individual at the Trailer launch event of DilRuba, the actress put out a poem-type post on X. It was a declaration of self-determination, addressing the societal pressures women often face.

"To be BRAVE, my choice / Being told to shrink in fear. NOT my choice," the poem begins, setting a tone of defiance. The refrain, "NOT my choice," serves as a reminder of the external forces that often attempt to dictate a woman’s path. "I AM A WOMAN, AND IT’S MY CHOICE, not yours," is another such effective line.

The icing on the cake comes when she says, "To pose, my choice. Being forced for a pose, NOT my choice." This came as an indirect reference to the recent incident. Rukshar also wrote that she is not worried about speaking the truth. "To be a free bird, my choice. Being told to be caged, NOT my choice," one of the stanzas goes.

Rukshar Dhillon, known for Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, will be seen as Kiran Abbavaram's girlfriend in DilRuba (the March 14th release).
