When Chiranjeevi publicized Balakrishna's new-age movie

When Balakrishna's Aditya 369 was released in 1991, there were apprehensions that its time-machine concept might be deemed too cerebral by the masses. That was the era of the Doordarshan, when trailer ads used to be just about 10 to 20 seconds long.

Chiranjeevi, who was by then the biggest Telugu star, chipped in by promoting the sci-fi entertainer through a 10-second Doordarshan ad after its release. He touched upon the movie's time-travel theme, appealing to the family audience to watch the movie. In a recent interview, producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad talked about the same.

Aditya 369 has been re-released in theaters this week. "This film is going to receive an overwhelming response from the audience. Families will come to the theaters with their children to watch it. This movie will continue to be watched by generations. People are now realizing the power of Aditya 369, and the Indian film industry is talking about it once again," Balakrishna said at the movie's pre-release event before the re-release.
