Producer Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy awaits the theatrical release of 'KA' on October 31. Starring Kiran Abbavaram in the lead, its pre-release event today was graced by actor Naga Chaitanya as the chief guest.
In this interview, Gopalakrishna Reddy talks about 'KA' at length and his vision as a producer. He particularly highlights the film's emotional content. Co-starring Nayan Sarika and Thanvi Ram, the film's music is by Sam CS. "I must say that the film has been talked about by the audience," he adds.
How did you get into the film industry, and what inspired you to become a producer?
I come from a farming family in Rajahmundry. My love for music and films started when I was young. Even after becoming a businessman, my passion for cinema never faded. I started producing films to support new talent and to gain experience in the industry. I'm not driven by monetary gains but by the satisfaction of creating quality cinema and seeing it reach a wide audience.
What drew you to the project 'KA'?
Kiran Abbavaram introduced me to the project. The story was unique, blending suspense with emotional depth. The directors, Sujeeth and Sandeep, presented the script effectively and demonstrated their commitment to the project, even training a puppy for the film.
How was the experience of working with Kiran Abbavaram and the rest of the team?
Kiran is a dedicated actor who worked tirelessly on the movie. He often worked double shifts, and the entire team was highly efficient. The directors were meticulous in their approach, ensuring every shot was perfect. The team's strong camaraderie made the production process smoother.
What are your thoughts on the film's title 'KA'?
We initially considered the title 'Ichhotane', but the directors convinced us that 'KA' was a more fitting choice, given its association with successful films. The entire team, including Kiran, is confident in the film's content.
What are your future plans as a producer?
I am currently co-producing 'Sarangapani Jathakam' with Shvalenka Krishnaprasad of Sridevi Movies. We are also exploring new projects and aim to produce more quality films. The film industry is challenging but rewarding. As a producer, my goal is to ensure that my films are recognized for their quality. I am here to make movies so that livelihood opportunities could be created. I have previously co-produced 'Yashoda' (starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead) with Sridevi Movies. I am not here to maximize my revenues. I stepped into production in tough times. During the pandemic, I made 'Ippudu Kaaka Inkeppudu' with newcomers.
Tell us about the release of 'KA'?
I am glad that Vamsi Nandipati is releasing our movie in the Telugu States where 'KA' will be released on 350 screens. The Malayalam version's rights are owned by Dulquer Salmaan.
