Ketika Sharma debuts in 'Romantic' this week (October 29). In this interview, the newcomer talks about her character in the movie, working with Akash Puri, Puri Jagannadh, Ramya Krishna, being interviewed by Prabhas, and more.
I am from Delhi and come from a family of doctors. I have always been passionate about acting and films. This is a dream come true debuting in a movie. The casting team of 'Romantic' happened to see my profile on Instagram. They contacted me and asked me to connect with Puri Connects.
As for my character in the movie, Monica is free-spirited, she is wild, free and reckless. She is modern and lives in the moment.
I feel very blessed to have got to work with Puri Jagannadh sir. Even as a person, his thinking and everything about him are so lovely. There is so much to learn from him. You get that Puri tag on you if you debut under him.
I am super-excited about having sung the cover version of 'Naa Valla Kadhe'. It was such a good opportunity. I feel so excited that I can't believe that my movie is releasing in just two days.
The climax is quite intense and youthful. With Ramya Krishna ma'am and Akash Puri, the male lead, you have to keep up with their level of acting. I had to understand the intensity of the moment. The whole second half was very challenging to shoot.
Akash is very, very sweet. He is well-mannered and made me very comfortable on set. He is a lovely person and I am very happy that I found a good friend in him. Sunaina (comedienne) has got a role in the movie. She is going to be a highlight. We have Devayani playing Akash's best friend. She is a fine actress. Ramya Krishna ma'am has got a great aura. Makrand Deshpande sir is another fine actor.
I would love to do biopics, thrillers. I love Sai Pallavi and her choices. She is such a lovely, natural actress. Her acting is great, her dances are superb. I have heard a lot about 'Love Story'.
Prabhas sir is hugely popular among my North Indian friends. He is known for 'Baahubali'. I was dreaming to meet him. Being interviewed by him was a great fangirl moment. He is so down-to-earth and nice. I didn't feel intimidated and he made me feel at home. It was so nice of him to promote our movie.
Charmme Kaur ma'am mentored me for 'Romantic'. She is the one who trained me for the dialogues and all. She believed in me and saw the character in me. I am so, so happy for myself. She is the sweetest host out there. She takes care of what her guests want when they are with her for a dinner.
'Romantic' is gonna be a blockbuster. You all are going to love it. Every dialogue is a treat. You will not be distracted while watching. You won't feel like walking out in the middle even for a short break.
